MOUNTAIN VIEW VILLAS IN MOSCOW, ID IS REMODELED

 JRG Construction, LLC is doing the work, that will provide new kitchens, heating and A/C upgrades, new doors, windows, appliances and light fixtures...all Energy Star rated...a new clubhouse/office complex and a new playground.  Assessibility will be improved throughout the property, and 3 dwelling units will be retro fitted to 504 (handicapped) standards.

 
Boise Housing Corporation owns Mountainview Villa.  USDA-RD is providing a new loan to finance $1,200,000 of rehabilitation work.   The construction contract is for 12 months, but JRG expects to be substantially complete by the end of 2011.
 
 

JANUARY 2011

OAK PARK CLUBHOUSE GETS A FACELIFT

The construction has started on to update Oak Park Village's clubhouse.  The clubhouse will have state of the art office, & fitness room. There will be brand new computers for a business office for tenants to use with printers & fax machines.  The living room/ common area is receiving brand new furniture as well.  The remodel should be completed by April 2011.  JRG Construction has been working on the remodel since December 2010 and is tracking to finish on time or early.

GALWAY OPEN HOUSE

 

The construction is completed and is being celebrated with an open house and ribbon cutting with the Nampa Major Tom Dale.  The open house is on November 16 from 3-8 pm with hors d’oeuvres and door prizes.

The residents are so proud of the new clubhouse, new landscaped grounds and updated units they want people to come see and celebrate Galway’s premier affordable housing.

SUMMERHILL APARTMENTS UPDATE

 

Is about to have its second radio boardcast on Nov 13st. In the clubhouse there will be drinks and hot dogs and great specials on select units.

All there is left to Idaho’s First Family Green Community is the carports.  In mid-December there will be an open house.

WELCOME NEW COMMUNTIES

 

In October Tomlinson and Associates welcomed four additional properties.  Colmer Village and Britta Bay in Weiser, Idaho and Kenmare Trace & Brandon Bay in Payette, Idaho all the properties are tax credit and each under 40 units.

GALWAY REMODEL UPDATE

The 1.5 million remodel is almost complete. It should be done by the end of October. The remodel consists of adding a state-of-the-art clubhouse; with a fitness center and two flat screen TV’s. SUMMERHILL APARTMENTS UPDATE

Two bedroom units are now available at Summerhill. This community just opened its doors 30 days ago and units are going quickly. Summerhill is a multi-family community with 1, 2, & 3 bedroom apartments.

RURAL DEVELOPMENT HONORS SITE MANAGER OF THE YEAR

Apartment Manager builds a community within a community

 Media is invited to join USDA Rural Development, Mayor and officials from Congressman Simpson’s Twin Falls District Office in recognizing Troy Hurd as Rural Development’s Site Manager of the Year for Family-Designated Housing. Hurd will be honored for his commitment to improving the quality of life for apartment residents on Tuesday,, August 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Village located at 2150 Main Street, Gooding, Idaho.

Responsible for both managing and the maintenance of the complex, Hurd not only improved the buildings during a recent rehabilitation of the apartment complex, but also improved the lives of the residents by building a community within the complex. He implemented policies and improved playground and picnic areas which encouraged tenants spending time in the common areas of the grounds, resulting in many of the neighbors becoming friends.

TOMLINSON & ASSOCIATES WINS BOISE BUILDING EXCELLENCE AWARD

The City of Boise honored Tomlinson & Associates for voluntarily increasing accessibility during the remodel of the 40 unit Riverview Homes on Leadville. The kitchens and bathrooms of 38 units were made “adaptable” per the Americans with Disabilities Act, two units were made fully accessible and ramps and handicapped parking were added. This remodel helped keep 40 units of affordable housing available to those who need it.

“The business owners and construction professionals honored today deserve recognition for doing the right thing to protect the public,” Planning and Development Services Department Director Bruce Chatterton Said. “These folks are the unseen heroes of building safety, investing thousands of dollars on projects that no one sees but which make all of us safer and improve the quality of our lives. Businesses like these help make Boise the most livable city in the county.”

RIVERVIEW HOMES REMODEL IS ALMOST COMPLETE

Currently Riverview Homes is under construction. It is being updated with new kitchen cabinets, refrigerators, stoves, carpets and there have been added patios or balconies. The landscaping has been brightened up and a playground was added. Riverview Homes will be completed by June.

SUMMERHILL APARTMENTS WINS GRANT

The LEED for Homes Affordable Housing Grant Program announced to Summerhill Apartments, located at 965 Hoopes Ave. in Idaho Falls, ID that it has received a grant award in the amount of $5,000.

It is USGBC’s goal for families to benefit from green built environments regardless of income, race, or any other social factor, and we are committed to integrating social equity into our work. The USGBC Affordable Housing Initiative, funded in part by a grant from The Home Depot Foundation, helps to achieve this goal by promoting green affordable housing. The Affordable Housing Initiative includes the LEED for Homes Grants Program, an annual Affordable Housing Summit, and various advocacy and public policy initiatives.

SUMMERHILL: PLATINIUM GREEN PROPERTY OPENING IN JUNE

Construction began on Summerhill in Idaho Falls. This family property will be upon completion, Idaho’s “First Platinum Green” property. Summerhill is planning on opening in June.

NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES COME ON BOARD

On January 1st, Neighborhood Housing Services properties are now under management of Tomlinson and Associates.

There are five properties that made up Neighborhood Housing Servings that included: Lakewood, Gateway, Davis Park, Northwest Pointe, and Stewart. These are affordable housing properties with 286 units.

CARDONA SENIOR APARTMENTS OPEN IN CHUBBUCK (POCATELLO AREA)IDAHO

Contractors completed all but landscape work at the 48 unit Cardona Senior housing development in Chubbuck recently. A dozen residents moved in the 1st wave and started enjoying the amenities of this affordable housing project. Applications are now being taken for the remainder of the units.

Cardona is another high quality project developed by Thomas Development of Boise, Idaho. This property was designed and built to the United States Green Building Council LEED for Homes standards, insuring energy efficiency, preservation of resources, sustainability and interior livability and air quality. Thomas Development expects to receive a LEED Silver Certification.

CONSTRUCTION STARTED THIS MONTH ON THE “RECYCLING" OF THE RIDGEVIEW APARTMENTS IN ST. MARIES, IDAHO.

Ridgeview, a 34 unit development was built in the late 1970’s, to provide housing for lower income families in Benawah County. Boise Housing Corporation and Idahocorp Financial Services, a division of Idaho Power Company, recently formed a new company to purchase and renovate this important housing resource.

Tomlinson and Associates, as developer, and JRG Construction, contractor, will carry out plans to replace roofing, windows, doors, siding, decks and playground throughout the summer. Extensive site work, including replacing all walkways and many retaining walks on the hillside site is also planned.
